| Chapter 1 General Provisions | |
| (Designation) | |
| Articles 1 | This juridical person shall be called The Japan Cartoonists Association. |
| (Office) | |
| Articles 2 |
The office of the Association shall be located at I - 4 - 6 Ginza, Chuo - Ku ,Tokyo 104. |
| (Branch offices) | |
| Articles 3 |
The Association may, upon the resolution of the Board of Directors, establish branch offices at such places as may be deemed necessary. |
| Chapter 2 Objectives and Undertakings | |
| (Objectives) | |
| Articles 4 | The objectives of the Association shall be to conduct undertakings related to the promotion of healthy cartoons, and at the same time, to encourage cartoon creation activities and make cultural interchange of cartoons with foreign countries, and thereby to contribute to the enhancement of the culture of this country. |
| (Undertaking) | |
| Articles 5 | In
order to accomplish the objectives stated in the preceding article, the
Association shall conduct the following undertakings; (1) Promotion of healthy cartoons. (2) Encouragement of cartoon creation activities. (3) International cultural interchange of cartoons. (4) Investigation and Research relating to cartoons. (5) Issuance of bulletins and other publications. (6) Other activities necessary for the accomplishment of the objectives. |
| Chapter 3 Membership | |
| (Classification) | |
| Articles 6 | Membership
of the Association shall be as follows: (1) Regular member: An individual who, having approved of its objectives, joins the Association. (2) Supporting member: An individual or an organization who supports the undertakings of the Association. (3) Honorary member: A person who, having rendered distinguished service to the Association, is recommended by resolution of the General Meeting. |
| 2. Of the above members, the regular members shall be the members under the Civil Law of Japan. | |
| (Admission) | |
| Articles 7 | One who intends to become a member shall obtain a recommendation from 2 members (one of whom shall be a director) and submit an application to the Chairman of the Board for approval by the Board; provided however, that a person recommended for honorary membership shall not be required to follow the admission procedure, but membership shall be granted to him upon his consenting to become such a member. |
| (Admission fee and membership dues) | |
| Articles 8 | Admission
fee of the Association shall be as follows: (1) Regular member : l0,000yen (2) Supporting member : 10,000yen 2.Membership dues of the Association shall be as follows: (1) Regular member : 20,000yen per annum (2) Supporting member : 50,000yen per annum 3.Honorary members shall not be required to pay the admission fee nor the membership dues. 4.Admission fees and membership dues that have already been paid shall not be refundable for any cause whatsoever. |
| (Loss of membership) | |
| Articles 9 | A
member shall lose his or her membership for the following causes; (1) Withdrawal from the Association. (2) When the member is declared incompetent or quasi - incompetent. (3) Death adjudication or disappearance of the member, or dissolution of a corporate member. (4) Expulsion from the Association. |
| (Withdrawal) | |
| Articles 10 | When a member intends to withdraw from the Association, notice of withdrawal shall be submitted to the Chairman of the Board stating the reason for withdrawal. |
| (Expulsion) | |
| Articles 11 | If a
member falls under any of the following items, the Chairman of the Board
may expel such member upon the resolution of a General Meeting. (1) If the member does an act damaging the reputation of the Association or in violation of the objectives of the Association. (2) If the member fails to observe the obligations of member of the Association. (3) When the member fails to pay his or her membership dues for I year or more. |
